Richard Cohen

Richard Cohen is the former publishing director of Hutchinson and of Hodder and Stoughton, and founder of Richard Cohen Books. The author of By the Sword (2010), a worldwide history of swordplay, he was for two years program director of the Cheltenham Festival of Literature, and from 2005 to 2012 was a visiting professor of creative writing at the University of Kingston‑upon-­Thames. He has written for The New York Times and most of the leading London newspapers. He is currently at work on The History of Historians, and is also completing a book about writing, How to Write Like Tolstoy. He lives in New York City.
