Helen Kirwan-Taylor is a journalist, artist and dog mother. Five years ago, she adopted a cairn terrier, Wilson, which has come to play a central role in her, and her family's, life, a role which goes further than that of most pets. For Wilson has developed an avatar, a physical and digital representation of the real thing, whose considerable personality and actions Helen chronicles in the Notting Hill Post and elsewhere online. This other Wilson looks increasingly likely to subsume both his real world counterpart and Helen herself. Wilson's World impinges increasingly on our own and is likely shortly to become a major motion picture, based on the wildly successful book of the same name.
