Dr Angus Armstrong

Dr Angus Armstrong is Director of Macroeconomic Research at the National Institute of Economic and Social Research, London. Angus' early career focused on international banking where he rose to become Chief Economist Asia and Managing Director at Deutsche Bank. He then joined HM Treasury, where he was Head of Macroeconomic Analysis during the financial crisis of 2008, and subsequently serves as the House of Lords special adviser on Scottish independence. Angus also currently serves as a senior fellow at The UK in a Changing Europe, which promotes rigorous, high-quality and independent research into the complex and ever changing relationship between the UK and the EU.
