Ana Pessoa

Ana Pessoa is a Portuguese writer and translator living in Brussels. She has published four novels for young adults which have won prizes in Portugal and abroad: Aqui é um bom lugar (2018 Maria Rosa Colaço Award, Portugal), Mary John (White Ravens Catalogue 2017), Supergigante (White Ravens Catalogue 2015; Shortlisted for the 2018 Cuatrogatos Foundation Prize in Mexico; Highly Recommended by FNLIJ, Brazil) and O caderno vermelho da rapariga karateka (Highly Recommended by FNLIJ, Brazil; 2011 Branquinho da Fonseca Prize, Portugal). Her books are published by Planeta Tangerina (winner of the 2012 Bologna Prize for Best Children's Publisher in Europe). They are also published in Brazil, Colombia and Mexico. Her books are included in the Portuguese Ministry of Education’s National Reading Plan. Ana is also a blogger (www.belgavista.blogspot.com).
